I am trying to set up my HK AVR1700 with my 5.1 H/T and music but I kind of ran into a problem. After watching several Audioholics videos on AVR set up procedures I tried to do a manual set up on my system that consists of Wharfedale Jade 3s as front speakers, an old CS Newton MC-100 for center, 2 Micca COVOs for surrounds and a newly purchased ELAC S12 EQ subwoofer that is controlled by bluetooth and an app.
I realized during the setup that the HK AVR has no way of changing the size of the speakers it only has a Number of Speakers sub menu? Does this mean that I must use the HK AVR EQ auto procedure to set up my system? Any and all advice would be welcome and appreciated.

Software Update Mac
However, with the experience I have had, Harman Kardon is unfortunately no longer a list of future viable options. On top of that, my children now feel the same way I do, having witnessed my quiet fits of rage with this product. As of this moment, the Harman Kardon AVR-1700 is officially a boat anchor. Now all I need is a boat. Home Theater Recievers: step-by-step guide to help you upgrade the software on you.

The HK website says the following about this problem :
< My AVR 1700 shows an update warning screen 'BCO UPDATE' and freezes. What
can I do? >
'Please perform a reset. 1: Press the front-panel Standby/on switch to place
the unit in the Standby mode (the power Indicator LED will turn amber). 2:
Press and hold the front-panel Surround Mode Button for at least 5 seconds
until the RESET message appears on the front-panel message display. Now the
receiver should function correctly. (Radio presets and other adjustments
will be lost, so these must be re-entered). If this reset does not solve the
problem, please contact the Harman Kardon helpdesk. Please note that a
software update can only be performed with a USB memory stick with files
downloaded from the Harman Kardon web site. It is not possible to update
through direct web connection. We are sorry for any inconvenience you may
have experienced.'
Any use ?
